Our children come from different backgrounds and situations, but common for all of them is the rejection and abandonment in some form. They arrive here usually without ever having had loving discipline or proper adult supervision in their lives. We strive to create predictable and safe surroundings for them and we make sure they are nurtured properly so that they may grow and develop to the best of their capacities.
Due to the large amount of children we divide them into different sections and living quarters. Boys and girls are of course separated. The children help take care of their living quarters and are responsable for the cleaning, the washing and folding of clothes, taking care of their green areas and play areas. We believe giving the children daily chores and making them partly responsable for these areas helps them develop their sense of identity and belonging and also nurture them in responsability and accountability.
One of the primary concerns are that the children hear Gods word and are encouraged to have a relationship with Him. we believe this is the only way they will truly be set free from past hurts and be able to look towards the future with hope and joy.
Every morning children, staff and volunteers gather in circles in front of their houses to sing praise songs and have devotionals. We call this Circle Time and it is our way of starting the day handing everything over to God and thanking Him for His works and wonders!
