David & Lydia - visit in Denmark

Posted: July 9th, 2006 @ 3:27am

David and Lydia were able to visit all the Danish Supporters and Sponsors on a short trip this May. After a decade of receiving volunteers and support from different individuals and churches in this small European country it was a true blessing and privilege finally to be able to thank these supporters personally.

David and Lydia shared after coming back:

“We have just come back from a short visit to Denmark , which was very blessful and beneficial. Although we have always appreciated the tremendous support from the Danes this personal encounter allowed us to bond and fellowship with them in such a special way. We were received with open arms and warm smiles.

A very well organized program allowed us a small insight in the Danish culture, traditions and costumes as well as seeing the beautiful nature and architecture. We now feel more equipped to understand our Danish volunteers always present at Emmanuel.

Visits and fellowshipping with young Danish students, their leaders and supportive churches was a mutual encouragement. A true highlight of our trip was the opportunity to reunite with previous volunteers and exchange memories, thoughts and experiences from their time here and their current lives. We also met with director and coordinator of the Volunteer Preparation program ‘Impact’ and we shared future plans for Danish volunteer support to Emmanuel.

Thank you Denmark for making us feel at home in your homes and for all those great moments of sharing with coffee and pastry! – we will treasure it always.”
