First step towards independence

Posted: January 23rd, 2008 @ 7:19am

All parents know that the day will come when their child takes the first steps into independence – and all parents dread the day! Every year we have some children taking that step and 2008 is no exception. Several of our older children left in 2007 for studies, work opportunities and family reunion. We have kept contact with most of them and are blessed when we hear news from them. The next couple of months Andy Javier, James Baker and Hector Cruz will be going to vocational school, Cinthia and Ani Michell started university this month, Karla Sarahi and Yenni are leaving for Costa Rica to study and plans are in the making for several others of our oldest children to start work and studies outside Emmanuel.
Some of them have relatives that can assist them in this transition and others depend on us to be there for them. We are seeing God work in each specific situation as pieces fall into place. Yet as some leave, others return and we have welcomed back Dunia, Felipe and Luis Alberto to Emmanuel.
